Last night you
Called me to
Tell me you’ve got nothing left to say
Today
I call you
To tell you that that’s ok
There’s nothing more to do
I’m sick of talkin to you
You’ll say the same is true until you stumble ‘cross my picture tomorrow
Why do we continue to put together
These puzzles that have missing pieces
That are gone forever
I love you but I can’t stay
I wish there was a nother way
But til these pieces turn up
I’d have to go with never
I tried to
Forget you
So I threw all your pictures away
You mistreat me
Completely
I cant go on this way
I put down your guitar
I drove off in my car
To leave behind all the times you let me down and led my heart astray
Why do we continue to put together
These puzzles that have missing pieces
That are gone forever
I love you but I can’t stay
I wish there was another way
But til these pieces turn up
I’d have to go with never
There’s nothing more to do
I’m sick of talkin to you
You’ll say the same is true until you stumble ‘cross my picture tomorrow
Why do we continue to put together
These puzzles that have missing pieces
That are gone forever
I love you but I can’t stay
I wish there was another way
But til these pieces turn up
I’ll have to go with never

Made It On My Own
03:42
|
|||
If I told you I didn’t want you around
Do you think it all would come crashing down?
And if I told you I you I didn't wanna see your face
Would you erase your disgrace from this place without leaving a trace
Or even a frown
You’re not needed anymore
Not like you were even before
So this time, I made it on my own
Your true colors bled through
A faded, abstract point of view
So this time, I made it on my own
I made it on my own
And if i let you sneak back in my life
Do you think, do you think, do you think that everything would be alright?
And did you think that I didn’t have my own mind?
That I would decline to find that your kind was behind all that wasn’t right
You’re not needed anymore
Not like you were even before
So this time, I made it on my own
Your true colors bled through
A faded, abstract point of view
But this time, I made it on my own
I made it on my own
I made it on my own
Ohh, you’re not needed anymore
Not like you were even before
So this time, this time, I made it on my own
Your true colors bled through
A faded, abstract point of view
But this time, I made it on my own
I made it on my own
You see argument has nothing to do
With what I really think of you
So this time I made it on my own
I made it on my own

Sunglasses
03:19
|
|||
Livin like outlaws on a crisp fall afternoon
Just hidin from the world knowing we’d be back to soon
And I take off my sunglasses
To see how blue the sky is - and it is
It is, it is.
We walk across a creek via tree branch fallen down
We find a spot to sit in where there’s no one else around
And I take off my sunglasses
To see how blue the sky is and it is
It is, it is-oh, it is
In the sun beneath the trees we talk of life so wise
In the distance we can hear the traffic so civilized
We sit just listening to the wind moving the lake below
Until the sun begins to fall until it’s time to go
So, walk we back across the creek to where we parked our car
We stand around and deeply breathe observing just where we are
And I take off my sunglasses
To see how blue the sky is and it’s
Pink and green and orange, and oh so beautiful
I take off my sunglasses
To see how blue the sky is and it is
It is, it is
Oh, I take off my sunglasses
To see how blue the sky is and it is
It is, it is
Oh it is

Black & White
03:32
|
|||
There he goes lost in the gray
All of his certainty slips away
He can’t see past the gray
To really see it’s black & white
This is a world of possibility, anything’s within your ability
If it’s worth the effort
This is a world of consequences, things go wrong when you tear down fences
This is a world of logic and reason
But my reason is different from your logic this time
It’s black and white
I won’t take any chances
By giving into all your advances
I can see what you’re saying
But I’m telling you it’s black and white
This is a world of possibility, anything’s within your ability
If it’s worth the effort
This is a world of consequences, things go wrong when you tear down fences
This is a world of logic and reason
But my reason is different from your logic this time
Oh, it’s black and white
Yeah, yeah, yeah
No more excuses, I already refused it
You’re not some special circumstance
Your point’s been taken, now finally awaken
To the reason that’s behind the signs
No need to read between the lines
I’ve told you why a thousand times
It’s black & white

Stand Up
03:56
|
|||
Climb out of your hole
You’ve got absolutely nothing to lose
Think you could obtain fortune and fame?
Then that’s what you must do
You gotta set your sights on something sweet
You didn’t know could be
And know that it won’t be easy, because
Nothing is for free
You got to stand up and be sure what you’re living for
You got to stand up and be sure what you’re living for
No one can tell you how to live, you just got to know how to forgive
You got to stand up and be sure what you’re living for
Let go of that fear that’s choking your confidence
Scared to make a move, well don’t be, you’ve got nothing to lose
You’ve got to aim high, don’t try, just do
You got to know what you got to give baby
And it won’t be easy because nothing is for free
You got to stand up and be sure what you’re living for
You got to stand up and be sure what you’re living for
No one can tell you how to live, you just got to know how to give
You got to stand up and be sure what you’re living for
You know I’m there if you need me
But you’ve got to find your own way, believe me
But even in the darkest night
Things are much brighter on the other side
Don’t let time slip away from you now
You got to stand up and be sure what you’re living for
You got to stand up and be sure what you’re living for
No one can tell you how to live, you just got to know how to forgive
You got to stand up and be sure what you’re living for
You got to stand up and be sure what you’re living for
You got to stand up and be sure what you’re living for
You got to stand up and be sure what you’re living for

Un-Easy
03:45
|
|||
You set it all in motion
Put me in a spin
You make my skin creep
You make my heart sink and swim
And I am petrified to look you in the eye..
But I can’t shake how a girl like me can’t get to a guy like you
You’re always content
Enough to get by
You don’t care enough
To ever wonder why
And I am terrified to look you in the eye…
But I can’t shake how a girl like me can’t get to a guy like you
But I can’t shake how a girl like me can’t get to a guy like you
I can’t even fake it
I’m so unprepared
My hands start to shake
I’ve never been so scared
With a lump in my throat
And my heart, my heart, my heart in my hands
And a notebook full of
All my forgotten plans
And I am terrified to look you in the eye…

Sweet Wonderful You
01:54
|
|||
Baby play me
Something sweet and slow
Soft and subtle
Then baby I’ll know
That summer is a-coming and the skies are baby blue
Baby play me, sweet wonderful you
Let those chords ring
Let your heart be free
Strum those 6 strings like you’re strumming me
So play the tune burn up the moon
To brighten up the sky
So when the beat makes our lips meet it shines for you and I
Love the melody driftin on the air
It makes me crazy only when you’re there
Oh, keep it quiet so no one else can hear
I desire only to be near
When my baby’s playin’
Something sweet to me, well
He’s just saying we’ll be fine you see
Cause summer is a comin and the skies are baby blue
Baby play me, sweet wonderful
I love the melody driftin on the air
It makes me crazy only when you’re there
Oh, keep it quiet so no one else can hear
I desire only to be near
When my baby’s playin
Something sweet to me, well
He’s just saying we’ll be fine you see
Cause summer is a comin and the skies are baby blue
Baby play me, sweet wonderful you
Sweet wonderful you
Sweet wonderful you

St. George
02:35
|
|||
Once there was a man I knew, someone you might care to meet
A man who said he knew it all, though his life was incomplete
Most tend to love his loving ways,
While the others see right through him, my, oh my
What a way to live, St. George
Woah, his colors bled right through while people paid no mind
Woah, and he covered his tracks every time
Woah, are you satisfied?
What a life you lead, St. George
You see him teaching Sunday school, he'll preach the word of God
Only for the sole convenience of his carefully made facade
He goes to church each week
But still his ego's full of spite now, my, oh my
What a way to live, St. George.
Woah, his colors bled right through while people paid no mind
Woah, and he covered his tracks every time
Woah, are you satisfied?
What a life you lead, St. George
Don't preach about the details that you never even knew
Don't talk about the life you lead, when none of it is true
Don't tell me I've got problems, when your whole life is a lie
Don't try to bring me down to Earth, when your mind's way too high
How many people do you fool, how long does it go on?
Will you ever be yourself full time, or is your act too far gone?
Do you see the situation?
Or do you block it out, my oh my
Are you satisfied, St. George?
Woah, his colors bled right through while people paid no mind
Woah, and he covered his tracks every time
Woah, are you satisfied?
What a life you lead
What a life you lead
What a life you lead, St. George

Amuse Me Muse
04:01
|
|||
You are my muse
You inspire your fire, expire, and then you abuse
You are my muse
You give me life, breathe into me, and then you abuse
Inspire in the depths of me
Your lovely wicked poetry
And yearning for the space to write
Only feeds your appetite
Your velvet skin rubs into me
The spikes of insecurity
And when I thought I've had enough
Your hungry stare just eats me up
Amuse me muse, with your complicated
Way that you choose to keep me confiscated
I sing the blues with the voice you gave and
Amuse me muse
Muse set the tone
You walk with me then set me free, now I am alone
Muse set the tone
Move my muscles tense my heart, tear me apart – I freeze into stone
Your wicked tongue it makes me speak
The growling voice inside of me
With bated breath stream out of me
The secret to my sympathy
Your precious poison summons up
The reason why I'm so messed up
And when I thought I've had enough
Your hungry stare just eats me up
Amuse me muse with your complicated
Way that you choose to keep me confiscated
I sing the blues with the voice you gave and
Amuse me muse, stir it up in me and
Amuse me muse, with your twisted delight
Amuse me muse, insinuate in your sight
I have to choose, if I stay or if I fight
Amuse me muse
Ohhh... yeah

Waiting For
04:41
|
|||
Ten to eight in the morning is when I woke up when I checked what the time was in France
They’re six hours ahead so I got out of bed drank some coffee and read the advance
Found my record collection and put on some Janis Joplin and I began dance
Thought about it some more as I walked out the door and I figured I’d give it a chance
Quarter to 2 in the afternoon I found myself at the park in the rain
As I strolled along singing the saddest of songs I felt myself start to go insane
As I thought about what I should have said what I will say when I see you again
And how much of myself left me when you did, and how much of you will remain
At dinnertime I wonder why the girls in Spain are better than I
And I stare at my plate and I sit and I sigh
Why I can’t close my eyes and no longer see you and your
Head High, feet firm on the floor
Your pride running over you walked out the door and you
Promised you wouldn’t look back anymore
So what am I waiting for?
As I falter and stumble my way to my house post-another long night at the bar
I laugh to myself at how foolish I’ve been, how it’s crazy it’s gotten this far
Then about 4 am I fall into my yard and I pick out my favorite star
And I smile and say, “Hey, it’s sure a new day” and quietly wonder where you are
What time is it in Norway? Have things been goin your way?
I smile to myself when I look at my shelf at my favorite picture
But then I remember your
Head High, feet firm on the floor
Your pride running over you walked out the door and you
Promised you wouldn’t look back anymore
Head High, feet firm on the floor
Your pride running over you walked out the door and you
Promised you wouldn’t look back anymore
Head High, feet firm on the floor
Your pride running over you walked out the door and you
Promised you wouldn’t look back anymore
Head High, feet firm on the floor
Your pride running over you walked out the door and you
Promised you wouldn’t look back anymore
So what am I waiting for?
What am I waiting for?
Oh waiting for
